AlterAround is a brand-new alteration service proudly developed by Tembusu Institute! With AlterAround, our sewing graduates are able to provide and offer alteration services from the comfort of their own homes. Tembusu Institute is developing a web application to help Singaporeans find alteration shops nearest to their location and match them with the closest alteration personnel. We will be partnering with our sewing vendor, to provide a loan cum purchase (sponsored by a third party) for the sewing machines to help our new business owners!

Aimed at individuals in the fashion retail service sector and designers catering to clients needing clothing modifications, it focuses on enhancing proficiency in garment fit evaluation, pinning for alteration, and executing alterations on simulated samples and ready-made clothing. Participants will expand their expertise by working with diverse materials and garment types, ensuring they can meet industry standards. 

The course adopts a hands-on approach, combining theoretical knowledge with practical application. Participants will engage in active learning through simulated samples and real-world garment alterations. Instruction will be supplemented with demonstrations, exercises, and collaborative activities to reinforce learning outcomes.

Assessment will be based on participants' ability to successfully execute alteration techniques, demonstrate proficiency in using sewing machines, and accurately measure altered garments against specified requirements.
