Objectives
  • Identify the various factors affecting fabric cost marker utilization for selected styles
  • Compute estimated fabric consumption based on given specs and sketch without the use of marker
  • Identify other components that affect apparel costs
  • Estimate other additional process costs such as embroidery, panel printing and wet processing costs
  • Analyse and propose alternatives to reduce apparel costs
  • Standard Minute Value (SMV) costing and Cut-make (CM) costing
  • Compute the final apparel costs

Admissions

To enrol, you must fulfil the following requirements

Aged 16 years and above

 and 2

Course fee funding eligibility : SCs and PRs (Self-sponsored individuals must be at least 21 years old)

 and 3

Possess at least 3 GCE ‘O’ Level credits with a minimum of C6 including English and Mathematics OR ES WSQ Workplace Literacy and Numeracy (WPLN) level 5 and above OR WSQ Advanced Certificate in Fashion Technology OR TaF.tc's Advanced Certificate

 and 4

ALL Students are required to have basic knowledge of computer and Microsoft Office

 and 5

Students need to be competent or possess equivalent skills and knowledge for the following competencies: a. Textile Processes and Principles

 and 6

Students need to be competent or possess equivalent skills and knowledge for the following competencies: b. Garment Construction

 and 7

Students need to be competent or possess equivalent skills and knowledge for the following competencies: c. Drafting and Sewing: Casual Knits

Graduation

To graduate, you must fulfil the following requirements

75% attendance rate of total training hours per module

Be found competent during written, practical and oral assessments

High School Diploma equivalent to GCE ‘O’ Level with 3 credits including English and Mathematics OR Qualifications from professional institutes may be considered on a case-by-case basic OR Pass TaF.tc Entrance Test

FAQs

We highly discourage you from missing any classes since the entire program is designed to be hands-on intensive. There is also a minimum attendance requirement of 75% of training hours for Singaporean and PRs, and 90% of training hours for international students. If you do not meet the 75% attendance requirement, you will not be eligible to enjoy subsidies nor to sit for the assessment. Make sure you block off your time during your training with us or find an intake option that will ensure you do not miss any classes. You will only wish that you had more time in the class!

We do not offer any make-up or replacement classes.

Yes! You can use any SkillsFuture Credits you have to pay for course fees.
